Static Vs Dynamic DNS

A Static IP is a permanent IP address allotted for the user on the internet. With the help of static IP numerous applications are processed like local email server for inbound and outbound mail, host a website, video-conferencing services, use of IP based security cameras etc. Many users are under the impression that one need a static IP for the remote access and remote viewing of the cameras actually it is not required since using the Dynamic IP itself the viewing of security cameras and accessing the DVR over the internet can happen which is called Dynamic DNS. It is a Domain name which will be assigned by the corresponding INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDERS from the server end to match the local IP. This way DVR will send and update its current IP address on DNS Server every time when IP address getting changed. Dynamic DNS are considered to be a cost-effective solution too. The biggest advantage of Dynamic IP Addressing is fewer security risks as the computer is assigned to a new IP address each time when the user logs on. But with regards to 100 % uptime it completely depends on the ISP providers who provide the same.
