The retail toy giant “SMYTHS TOY SUPERSTORES “ wanted to upgrade the
current infrastructure in a better way. They could not achieve the same
with the current Analog system , as it could not increase storage and
the quality of the video which was very poor. In order to meet its
business requirement through more days of stored video footage with
higher image quality and remote accessibility of the same they require
centralized monitoring for all the stores for out of hours alarms.
The partnership of Axis, the global leader in network video and Mirasys offered Smyths Toys Superstores a fully integrated IP SURVEILLANCE solution with unique features such as corridor format that can provide excellent view of the aisles and high quality images. Mean while Smyths Toys Superstores wanted to reduce the number of cameras and the amount of unwanted data too. For this purpose MULTISYS the company that installed the AXIS and MIRASYS solution were able to build high quality custom hardware for SMYTHS which also ensured high availability with data retention requirements.
Over 1,500 IP cameras and 35 Mirasys recorders; 500 analogue cameras and 15 Mirasys hybrid recorder were utilised across 35 sites. As mentioned above the key aim of the SMYTH TOY SUPER STORES has been achieved through the INTEGRATED IP SURVEILLANCE of Axis cameras and Mirasys NVR Enterprise.
Mr.Stephen MCGivern ,facilities manager for SMYTH has expressed his views by saying “We were very happy with the Axis and Mirasys partnership. The remote access means it is very easy for our store managers to find events that have happened”.
